In the summer of 1996, I arrived in Corfu to work for a tour operating company in Paleokastritsa. It was during that summer that I met my husband, who was from the nearby village of Doukades. On my days off, he would take me on explorations around the island, and most evenings, we'd relax together in the village square—enjoying a meal at one of the local tavernas or simply hanging out with his friends.
I immediately fell in love with the experience. The village felt so different from the tourist-heavy resorts; it was the true Greece—an authentic village that offered a window into the Greek way of life.
After two blissful summers and a winter here, we decided to build our family home. The moment I saw the plot of land, I knew it was meant to be. The breathtaking views, the lush trees, the countless shades of green, and the endless space—it was paradise. Coming from London, it felt like a dream come true.
In 1999, we began the construction, and by 2004, we finally moved in. The next 18 years were spent turning the house into our beloved family home, where we created countless precious memories.
Each summer, our friends and family would visit, and without fail, they'd all rave about how relaxing and beautiful the place was. Everyone wished they could spend their holidays here.
In 2022, we decided to make that dream a reality for others. Our home officially became a holiday villa—Villa Alexakis—a place where visitors could stay and experience the warmth and comfort of home, with a touch of something extra.
Welcome to Villa Alexakis, the place where our best memories began.
